Our Story

How it all started...

It all came to be when we were gathering estimates on our basement. The first company to come in was a well-advertised, well-known company. They came in, put a meter on the wall, told us they were amazed our house had not collapsed and that we should have the work done immediately! They were quite convincing, and even offered a $500.00 DISCOUNT if we signed on with them that evening. Unfortunately, it was the Ohio State/Florida Gators football game, and we could not make a decision at the time.

About a week later, we were talking to a neighbor about how expensive they were and how we were going to afford it. He suggested we call another guy who gave us a quote for the same job at 1/3 of the price! We asked him how he could do that and his answer was, “I don’t think you should have to pay for my advertising. My work should speak for itself.”

And that’s when we realized we wanted to be that guy. We want to charge a fair

price for a job well done. We don’t think you should have to pay for our advertising or our fancy gadgets to make you think you need things you don’t need. We think our work should be priced well enough that we don’t need a contract to keep you. You’ll come back because you like our work.

But most of all, we want you to be able to get quotes without pressure, take time make the decision you want to make and be happy with the results.

We are insured and bonded. We stand behind our work and believe the best publicity is a happy customer.

And then...

Then one day OHI Electric was thinking, "There has to be more than this..." and may have been thinking it a little too loud as he was wandering around. While another electric company (JWB Electric) was also thinking, "I am tired of doing this alone. There has to be a better way."

As it turns out, JWB Electric had been doing Commerical work since 2000, and OHI Electric had been doing Residential since 2007.

ell, they ran into each other, while they were both thinking these thoughts out loud.

JWB said, "Hey, why don't we try to work together? I'll introduce you to the Commercial world, while you continue to grow your residential and service world and together we will make it happen."

OHI said, "Okay, what's the worst that can happen?"

JWB said, "You will have to wake up at 6:30 every morning, there will be more stress than you ever imagined, you will have to do Commercial Draws, and you probably won't be able to take a vacation day for the first five years..."

OHI said, "That sounds FANTASTIC. When can we start?"

And that is how we came to be. JWB continues to teach us about the Commercial world, and there are days when OHI has to remember that this is what he signed up for, but the ride has been great and we continue to appreciate all of you that support us on this journey.
